Honey Pots for Night Time

Are you looking for a flexible night nappy?

Our Honey Pots give you just this. A nappy that is super absorbent with plenty of options for boosting.

The Honey Pot is a fitted nappy. This means it is made of fully absorbent material with no built in waterproofing. So while it looks just like a Bare Cub nappy, that outside is made of absorbent bamboo rather than minky and suede cloth - this makes it more absorbent.

Inside the nappy you will find a long snake like insert topped with bamboo velour, concealing 2 other layers of bamboo fleece (folded in half adds 6 layers).

This can be used as a day nappy on its own. In summer, no cover is needed for running around the yard or house. To be waterproof under cloths and for naps add a waterproof Honey Wrap.

So, how about the night time?

At night time, add a trifold booster. Adding this gives you 14 lovely layers of bamboo.

If this isn't enough, you can add another booster or insert either inside or outside the nappy (between the nappy and the cover).

An extra insert or booster can add anywhere from 3-6 more layers.

The ability to add these extra layers allows you to really customise how much absorbency you need. The double gusseted cover enables this extra boosting as the gussets give you lots of extra room inside the nappy to keep boosting and hold everything in place.

PUL versus Minky

We are often asked the difference between our Silky/PUL nappies and our Minky.

Both are water resistant and do not require any extra cover.

PUL is a flay/smooth Polyester fabric and Minky is a fluffy fabric with a 2.5mm pile to it. It is softer, much like a velour feel.

Some parents prefer the feel to one over the other. Others prefer the look of one fabric over the other. Essentially, both function the same but look and feel different.

This nappy is PUL. You can see it is smooth and has a slight shine to it.

Horses are a big favourite amongst our own little girls. We couldn't resist the classic carousel making it onto one of our nappies.

Divine (Minky)
A new colour twist in the extremely popular Bella Print released last year. This is a beautiful neutral print.

Big Top (PUL)
Featuring the Big Top, Elephants, clowns and even little tickets that say Baby Bare.

Fox Trot (PUL)
Foxes are extremely popular. This cute little fox print is a lovely neutral option.

We love the neutral colours in this nappy.

Fruit is all the fashion! We have been being asked for more fruit themed nappies.

Rainbow toucans are always a favourite. We love the variation in colour on this print. If you grab a couple, you will be sure to find they look quite different depending on where on the fabric its been cut.

Woodland (minky)
We love this new print, not just because its cute but because of the size of the characters. Depending on the nappy you might find it features a Hedgehog, squirells, moose or bears. You can see the full print in the bag below, and then the sections you might get in the nappy below.

Gorgeous neutral colours make this a nappy unique. Plenty of colour variation through the pattern also makes each nappy an individual.

We are bringing out 3 nappies with embossed star patterns in the minky. We absolutely love these as a bit of a twist to the solid colour nappies. We hope to look at bringing out more in the future if they prove as popular as we hope.

We are very excited to release the first fitted nappy for Baby Bare.

The Honey Pot Range!

This nappy is a result of many requests for a trim fitting, absorbent fitted nappy that can convert to a night nappy where needed.

Honey Pots need a waterproof cover to ensure they do not wet clothing or bedding. These covers will be joining us late May 2016 as a double gusseted PUL cover, OSFM design. We are really excited as you will then be able to use your gorgeous Baby Bare nappies in a number of different ways. Stay tuned for more information about that!

The honey pot features a snap in insert, that comes out for ease of drying.

It is made of bamboo fleece and topped with a layer of bamboo velour. You can fold the long insert with extra layers in the front where needed for boys or tummy sleepers.

The outer of the nappy features a lining of bamboo fleece, and an outer of bamboo velour.

Is the Honey Pot for you?

• Fully absorbent nappy that requires a cover, so two stages to each change. Put on the fitted nappy, then do up the cover over the top.
• Ability to boost with a night booster (and other boosters if necessary) for a night nappy.
• No synthetic layers in the nappy (if your child is sensitive to synthetic fibres, this is a great option). 
• When combining the fitted with a cover, you have two layers around the legs for containing messes giving you extra security between changes.
• Nappy can be worn without a cover for extra breathability (but will not be waterproof).

How to size your Bare Cub Nappy

So you have received your nappies in the mail and you are wondering how you get them to fit your baby at each different age.

Here is the guide to how to do it.

Baby Bare nappies have 4 size settings and these are detailed below in the photographs.

Many parents want an age guide to which snaps they should use. But I prefer to explain that there should be no loose fabric hanging in the crutch of the nappy. You can see in the image below, the nappy has a sagging excess of fabric that is loose. Snapping up the rise, will eliminate this excess fabric. When fitted right, you shouldn't have any excess.

In the image below the excess is gone and the nappy sits neatly and firmly on the baby.

This first image shows the nappy snapped up to the smallest setting. You can see that there are no rise snaps visible in the front of the nappy. This is the suggested sizing for a newborn baby.

As your child grows, you will notice the smallest nappy setting is now too tight. We expect this to happen around a couple of months old.

You can see the second size has one row of snaps exposed in the rise.

The next size has two rows of rise snaps exposed. This is around 6 months of age depending on your baby.

The last setting is having the snaps fully exposed. Whilst this will happen around 10-12 months of age, the nappies no longer need rise adjustment. Most babies stay on the same setting (waist and rise) form  14 months till toilet training.

Keep in mind you baby is growing at their fastest rate in the first year. Their growth then slows down. The nappies also are designed to fit more like undies as they get older, so they become lower rise and trimmer. This sees them fit beautifully under clothes and gives more comfort to your child as they are not wearing a big bulky nappy.

Introducing a new line of Silky Bare

This week we launched our new Silky Bare nappies. What is unique about this new line up? Well all the PUL prints are now exclusive to Baby Bare.

What is even more exciting for us, is that these prints are all designed in house. That means each print has a story and a reason for being. We do a lot of brainstorming to come up with our new prints. For example the flamingo's were a highlight of a recent family trip to the USA. Mr Baby Bare has a particular love of bee's which he put into creating Buzz. Our new Farmyard Folly Print is an expression of our littlest family member Emma who has been learning all her animal sounds. She is behind with her speech and we get great delight as these noises are some of her few words. We thought this was a great addition to parents who can talk to their little ones about the little animals on their bottom.

Our eldest daughter Charlotte was the thinking behind some of the next range of Minky Prints. But you will have to wait to see those.

So here is a few different pictures of the new range. We hope you love the fresh new look of the Silky Bare range which is now available in the Teddy as well.
